The Inquiry provides funding for the Solicitors and Counsel to the Inquiry and in addition only funds representation for Core Participants and witnesses if the Chairman makes such an award in accordance with the provisions of s.40 of the Inquiries Act 2005.
The Home Secretary has made a <a href=”https://www.ucpi.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/s404-Ministerial-Determination.pdf” target=”_blank”>determination</a> under Section 40(4) of the Inquiries Act 2005 setting out the qualifications and conditions under which the Chairman should make awards for legal representation.
